I donated a FamilySearch Historical Records collection

The collection I donated to FamilySearch is online! I donated images of my 2x great grandfather Frank S. Rowland's Church register from his 30 years as a Methodist minister. I'm excited that his record keeping can now be a blessing to anyone descended from those listed herein.

Digital images of a church register kept by Frank S. Rowland (1859-1917), Methodist (Episcopal) minister. Reverend Rowland served congregations in Hornellsville, Hartsville, Rochester, Buffalo, and Olean, New York; Detroit, Michigan; and Winona, Minnesota. The register contains marriages and burials...

For now, I simply want all of you to know my ancestor has a collection on the website of the largest genealogy organization in the world. It feels like quite an accomplishment. I hope that anyone else out there with a special collection of genealogical value will consider donating theirs as well.

Donating a collection to FamilySearch was not a self-explanatory process, so I plan to explain it in some detail in future post(s).

  1. That's fantastic!

I have amassed a collection of original church records, cemetery records, masonic lodge records, business records, etc. over the years and it would be great to know how to get them onto FamilySearch.
